Google Career Certificates are a new professional certificate training programs to learn job-ready skills to start or advance a career in high-demand fields.

Being launched in the US, Google will provide a course and certificate, and also connect to national employers who are hiring for related roles.

All these courses are hosted on Coursera and take around 6 months to complete.

What are the new Google Career Certificates?

Google are going to be offering certificates for; IT Support Specialists, Data Analysts, Project Managers and UX Designers.

IT Support Specialist

IT support is all about troubleshooting and problem solving when technology fails us, and providing great customer service along the way. Specialists support everything from networking to operating systems, and system administration to security in the workplace.

This certificate is a launchpad to a career in IT.

  • No degree or prior experience is required: 61% of learners enrolled do not have a four-year degree.
  • Set your own pace and timeline: The average learner completes the IT support program in three-to-six months.
  • Learn from anywhere: The courses are 100% online, and there are not any in-person requirements.

Certificates Coming Soon

Data Analyst

Data analysts make use of data to help inform important business decisions. They prepare, process, and analyse data for key insights, share their findings with stakeholders, and provide data-driven recommendations for effective action.

Project Manager

Project managers are responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed efficiently with maximum quality and value added to the business.

UX Designer

User experience (UX) designers make technology easier and more enjoyable to use. They create or refine products and interfaces to make them useful, usable, and accessible to users.

This is a very positive step from Google, as it always great to see courses and resources to help people find jobs – and better yet, high-level jobs. This has just launched for the US, and not all courses are available yet. Nothing has been launched for the UK, but you can find lots of resources for the UK and Europe on Grow with Google.
